Follow Friday

Anyone stopping by from Parajunkee's great Follow Friday blog hop, welcome! The question this time round was:

Q. Just like Ashley said (love it) "Ashley the girl..." who are You the Boy/Girl, instead of You the Blogger?

Outside of Drying Ink? Well, my hobbies include pyrography, kayaking, and - of course - reading. I live in the UK and curse the rain, of course.

Any new followers, please stop by and say hello below!

  1. This is maybe the best Follow Friday question I've seen so far. I'm learning so much about so many book bloggers this week!

    (Some surprising things at that!)

I've got a few surprises in store for you! Follow me back to my blog and learn more about who I am - the man, not the blogger and author.

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!
    Howard Sherman

  2. Hopping through. New follower! What is pyrography? Something to do with fire?
    My Hop

  3. Thanks for following! I'm following back. Pyrography is drawing on wood using fire, and it's really very fun!

There's a few pictures on the Wikipedia page:

  4. Hi, just dropping past to say Hi. I've always fancied giving kayaking a try. Looks a lot of fun and good exercise.

  5. I must admit, I had to look up the term "pyrography," but absolutely LOVE the artwork of such a method. I'm happy to now know the name of the craft. It reminds me of elementary school, when my 5th grade teacher brought in a superheated "pen" to use for drawing on wood. I promptly singed myself (not seriously but duh- if you touch it, it will BURN ^_^), and thus ended my own budding career as a worker of wood. ^_^ But it sure is a beautiful art form.

If I may so ask, what first drew you to pyrography?

  6. Hehe, I did that once or twice myself! And as for what first drew me, that would be seeing the word pyrography on the list of lessons for an art festival - and not having a clue what it could be. :) I looked it up, had a lesson - wasn't very good at all - bought my own machine, and have been burning ever since! It's really quite a fun artform. :)

  7. Hi TC, as well. Yes, it really is an enjoyable form of exercise, even on flat, known water! (Running away from swans ;) )

  8. Awesome. Indeed, the very name sort of conjures up dangerous, exciting images. Which in fact it is, really. ^_^ But on a list that might consist of "crossstitching" or even "watercolors," pyrography would win hands down. ^_^

    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Just hopping by...I've never tried kayaking. I'm a bit of a spaz at times so I'd probably drown. Think I'll keep my feet on the land for now, lol.

Check out my TGIF post when you have a chance.

  10. Living in the Uk too, I completely understand about the rain - we just get too much!

You should show some of your pyrography on here :)

    Thanks for stopping by!

  11. I agree - but then again, I might be a little biased in its favour. I'm following as well. :)

@ Mandy Lum: Welcome! Hehe, well, I doubt that. Thanks for stopping by.

@ Hannah Mariska: Well, maybe I will! I'm planning to take a picture of my WIP eagle sometime soon, so I'll post that in a few days.

  12. Happy Hop. I hate the rain. I enjoyed living in the desert.

  13. So glad to see you did the follow hop. :) I haven't done one in a while. But I do need to get back into the habit again. Oh, where does the time go these days. :) Hope you had a great time.

  14. Newest follower here via the Friday hop. I am a new contemporary romance writer and a reader of almost anything! Hope you stop by and check out my blog.

  15. Welcome! I'm following back as well.
